Jaguar brake pads – does the type really affect the pedal feel that much?

Been driving an F-Pace for about two years now and honestly I never paid much attention to brake pads until recently when a friend let me drive his XJ and the pedal was way sharper than mine even though we have similar mileage. Got me wondering if the previous owner of my car put cheap pads on before selling it. I was poking around online and landed on https://brakepadreplacementdubai.ae/brands/jaguar/ which had some basic info about OEM vs aftermarket compounds but didn’t really explain how much the pedal feel actually changes. So for anyone here who’s swapped pads on a modern Jaguar, is the difference really night and day between a cheap set and something like genuine Jaguar pads? I don't track the car or anything, just daily driving around Dubai, but I miss that confident bite. Should I just go OEM or is there a specific aftermarket brand that gives a similar feel without the dealer markup?

Skip the cheap aftermarket and go either OEM or a reputable brand. On a daily driver in Dubai heat the difference in initial bite and fade resistance is worth the extra cost, especially in stop and go traffic on SZR.
